How much people out there really know how much states do Malaysia have? Even they knew it but they would never know where they actually situated.

People would be proud of how much country they had been to but never feel ashamed that they had never been to most of the states of their own country.

As a Malaysian I am proud to be one of the citizens. Having this opportunity I would like to describe a few things and attractions of my homeland, MIRI ! When you see this word, how much do you really know about this place? No idea? When someone mentioned Brunei they would know but Miri is just neighbors’ to them and they never knew where is Miri or Miri actually exist.

Frankly speaking, I never knew the exact history of this place I called homeland but I knew partially about it and grow up with it. Watching it grow and expand with achievement is just like parents watching their child grow up and the happiness can never ever described by any words in dictionary.

From a small town we had been upgraded to a resort city on May 2005. As part of Mirian, I am so glad and honor to be there to watch that historical moment happened. Even we are just a small town but we are not useless. People had known us as the oil & gas city that can compete with other countries like Brunei. Visit Grand Old Lady and you will get to know more about it. We have the first oil well in the country and had been contributing for ages.

Living in a multi race country, we are living peacefully as a community. We are rich of multi culture that others don’t get to enjoy. We celebrate our festival together and non-racist by having home visit to the other race home during festive seasons. Never forget about our city icon, the seahorse and our homeland flower icon, periwinkle. This both icon used to be part of the decoration whenever festive seasons arrive. Mall will mostly have them to let foreigners or even visitors to know them as part of us.

I remember just few years back where I have to leave home and come over to the west to pursue my studies. I thought I would have great time over and never knew I will suffer from homesick. Being apart from family and home is really suffering and now I approached this forum called Miri Community.

It had actually brought me a step closer to my homeland even though I am thousand miles away from home. I get to know most of the updated news than news paper does. I get to know new friends which I never dare to in real life. I get to link back with some old friends that I never knew I will be meeting them again. Thanks to Miri community I am once again connected to them and also Miri.

There is always no place better than home. Have you reminded about your homeland after reading this? Or did your mind just flash through reminding how long you had not been back home? Don’t wait another second and start taking action for a trip back to where you called home. As for me, Miri will always be my home no matter where I am or where I will be.

A memorable Tea Party

Attended a tea party yesterday. It was actually not a work but instead a party to attend before I left the company behind. It was interesting and very christmas-y thou. But what I am more surprise of was get to see my BFF again. Missing them so so much. They look pretty and beautiful on the day. Make up do makes us different.

Besides entertaining the customer we will never forget to capture some nice photos. It is a must whenever it comes to this certain occasion.

FINALLY.......

I had been saying to get my hair-do so so long. And FINALLY I had done it. This was such a mixture of feeling. I was so so nervous on the time I did it. It was even more excited than going to an exam hall. It was more nervous than meeting someone I like...hahahahha (just for description)

A hair wash before perming my hair.

Starting to roll my hair up and ended I had around 20 rolls. That was so so much. My head was such a burden because it was so heavy.
This is how it looks like when it is all done. And there is wire connected to that round thing that rolls the hair to the machine.
After 3 hours of sit, blow, wash and wait and here it is the outcome of it. Please tell me it looks good, but even it looks bad I can't change anything. After 22 years of straight hair and now I get a new hairstyle.

It's my last day of work yesterday. I am not that sad thou but somehow gona miss them much. Maybe I will meet them soon again that is why saddness does not actually conquer me but somehow I shall write something about them.

First of all, emily. She is my mummy as what we called her sometimes. That's a long story how this name appear to be, so we will just missed out the granny story. She is cute, tall and talkative like me. But she is awesome. She is great in design and that is what she is doing. Impressive work that she had been producing. EMily, see this don't be too arrogant ya!!!

Next is pretty Jolene. She is also a lovely girl. We had great time fooling around. Maybe we are at the same age that is why we do share something in common. She had so much passion in something she do. She is definitely someone who gona go for her dreams and would not even give up. Tough girl you are. Remeber we are always bff babe!!!
.......when 3 of us comes around we gona be MADLYYYYY CRAZY!!! The whole office, no no, our own places were surrounded with our voices and laughter. Hopefully we did not interrupt others and makes them annoyed. I miss both of you so much now. How I wish we could hang out again and go crazy without worrying who we gona interrupt.hahahahah

I almost miss out another one. Wei Ying. She is the cutest girl but yet people's wife already. Even sometimes they all tend to bully me sometimes but still they are great girls. They had teached me lots of things I don't used to know. They guide me through every job I need to be done. Thanks to al of you. I am gona miss u all so so so much!!!

Paddington House of Pancakes

Do you know that even pancakes can be a main course instead of just a breakfast or starter? Even a pancake can be very healthy food. If you did watch 8TV ho chiak you will know better. They did went to this restaurant and intro about it. Yes, that's Paddington House of Pancakes.

You will in love with all their food when you look into their menu. It was so tempting that you don't even know which one to choose. I had a chance to dine in that day and there's some photo taken. Don't really remember their name as it was so french.

Even desserts have pancakes in it. Ice-cream with mini pancakes and peanuts. That was so so nice and great.

It was an enjoyable and pleasant meal. The food looks tempting? Go over to 1 Utama , Rainforest and you will get to enjoy this and satisfy your taste bud.

A good friend of mine came over last weeks before she wait to go back Miri. Been shopping around and of course dining is a must. We went to this Esquire Kitchen which I had been hoping to go.

Kailan
I kinda love this vege because its light and great with the oyster sauce. Garlic gives the vege nice aroma. Thumbs up for this.

Pig Leg

OMG!!! OMG!! This is so tempting I told you. So so great of taste and you will love it if you like something heavy. I bet someone who do not like 3 layer pork would not even try a single bite of this.

Sweet & Sour Fish

I think this fish is just alright and not really good enough for a restaurant like them. This is really worst than my expectation. If they have more taste on the gravy it would be better.

Chicken with Lemon Sauce

This is also not very good. The chicken itself is alright but then the lemon sauce was like not really match with the chicken. I think combination is important in food.

Siao Long Pao

I think this is not as good as the one from Dragon-i. This is nothing compare to it. I know this is bad to compare but as a customer we have the right don't we???

Finally after so long I had made it to develop my photo. I am so so anxious when I finish the first roll of film. Can't wait to develop the photo and look at the outcome. Surprisingly some of the photos is better than I thought and I guess that's the surprise and satisfaction I got from lomo. It was not just that spur of moment but the overall go through process that I am having. The following is what I had got from my lovely lomo. Enjoy it and there's some more in my fb account. Finally I made it to this. I had watched one of the movie that I had wanted for so long since I saw the preview. This is one of the great movie of all and I guess for me this is one of the best movie of the year. It really touches people heart and also lesson learned from it.

Some people might have good and bad comments on it but whatever it is it will never affect my judgement on it. Personally this is a great movie after "The Day After Tomorrow" , for those who knows and watched it. They are similar but yet still some difference and they had ONE thing in common is telling human that the world is so sick and dying soon.

Personally, I think this movie had more effects and technology involvement than the previous one. The impact is bigger than the previous one too. It was indeed so deep in heart every scene after watching it and it really makes me feel bad. There's one this quote that I really love,

"Human lost its humanity when human starts to fight
among each other! "

I totally agreed with this and human is a civilisation and civilisation comes
from team work. How great the word are. People out there had you feel it? Had
you start doing your part to heal the world as what MJ had written in his song?
Think and start doing before everything is too late. Even just a small part will
mean and helps a lot!!

I shall really admit that age really limits certain activities and bring some limitations. I am calling myself old when I realise that I have a body that act like 40.

Went for a badminton session yesterday with bunch of colleague. Sports is good but somehow I had not been doing exercise for years. And I really mean years since I graduate from high school and stop from my high jump sports. That was like around 5 years back and that's really long ago!!!!!

It was a great activity thou but somehow it was tiring for me after a few rounds. I had continuously playing for an hour and I'm gasping for air like a hungry tiger hunting for it's predators. I am really out of air and adding that I am running like some mad dog chasing me. I guess I really gona speed up.

After one and a half hour I had to call it stop. I'm tired like I had been walking up a 24 storey building by stairs instead of taking the lift. I shall admit that I had damn bad stamina. I guess I need to go for more minor exercise instead of tiring one.

Wake up this morning and having lots of ache around. Backache, hand and leg muscle pain and even my ass is feeling the pain. What the he*ll. That is why I guess I am getting old and I can't it even with my age. hahahahahah

I had been awaiting for this to be shown in the cinema for so so long after I knew about it. People had been talking and discussing about it. For me, this would be a great movie even though it was not a real movie production but it was the only thing left in memorable of our King Of Pop, Michael Jackson!

This is some of the picture clearly taken from an email a friend send to me. This is exactly what you will see in the movie itself.

Michael is working very hard for his final stage performance. You would see something that you wouldn't see in real life. You will see how serious he is in his career and job. You will never imagine how hardworking he is and seriousness in every little detail.

He seek for perfection for his audience. No matter from stage decoration, trailer for his every song background, vocalist that gona sing with him or even his dancer. He goes on every detail himself. He chooses his own dancer himself among the millions youngsters that came to audition. He always knew that the new generation needed to be given chances and explore.

He listens to every detail of his band performers. Every single note, every bass and every key of the guitar he wanted for no flaws!! He want the best among the best last performance for his audience.

The choreographer is seeking for best of every steps in ever dance move. Director is working hard to work out speciality in MJ concert by having lots lots of MTV recording to show out in his song background. They had been doing really lots of work to impress everyone. He trusted everyone without hesitation. He treated everyone like family. He is nothing like what people saying bad about him at all.

You will gona love it if you like MJ, LOVE MJ! I was no MJ fans but somehow I always respected him. Seeing that movie was really touching and I saw all his passion in his job and world and everyone!!

Watch it before it is too late. It will last for only 2 weeks. Where else will you find something so real of him? Only at Michael Jackson, THIS IS IT!!!

HK Cuisine

Once again I visited another similar HK cuisine at Times Square. People used to talk about Kim Gary Restaurant and it was one of the most popular choice of the west malaysian. People tend to say that West Malaysia is similar to HK because they specak cant0nese and also had the same taste as the HK-ians. What do you think?

This is good for hot weather. Cool down the heat and temperature.

MakanManiacs is here. hahahah...Nola just my god brother and not the whole team. Bring him around to try some food but seems like it was little disappointed for me.

And one more thing. This is the very first time I had all the cameras on the food instead of me alone. I used to nag by my friends to have take pictured on the food but this time round I had another 2 with me. Even I looks so mini in size.

This is Kelvin's pick. It doesnt really satisfied him because the rice seems to be tasteless as what he said. Additionally, when they sent it over the looks of it does not attract us too. Or maybe it was just not our day.

Personally, the fish was ok but the paste doesn't really satisfied my taste bud. Maybe I am not used to such paste. It feels weird to go with the fish. Maybe some people do like it.

I had nothing better to do and used to take pictures where ever I go.

People that know me well enough know that I am a person that loves to take photo but without quality.

I admit that but still it was fun to have picture every time there was an outing. It was for a piece a memory that we might forget in future.

Company is giving us the employee, as what we used to say the employee benefit. I received a voucher from my employer weeks ago and I thought it was a joke from who had nothing better to do. Somehow it turns out to be true and me and my colleague went over to chill before it moved out.

I feel so sorry for what I am gona post because I have the picture but I don't remember any single of the food. I knew I had bad memory but pictures used to speak a thousand word. The food were more to Italian or even English style of cooking.

Let's begin the journey into the food arena.

Does all of that satisfied your taste bud? I know I should have remember the name of the food so some of you might get to try it when ever you were somewhere around there. Anyway just go in and take up the menu then pick whatever you think it would be nice to you from its name. You will never get wrong form your first instinct.

I heard lots lots of people around me saying Papparich. What a funny name huh? It does sound funny but instead it was an easy remember name instead. Had an opportunity to drop by here today and thanks to sabah-ian mate. Let's stop the nonsense and let me show you some tasty food they served and might light up your taste bud.

I believe most of the restaurant would have these so called calling button but somehow this is not working. Zack had been pressing it hard and times but no one come over to serve us. He had to go over to the counter and get our order done.
My drink. Taste nice of course. Barley with lime. New experienced of having it. Sour and sweet represents the journey of life. High and low would come at the same time.

Hor Fun with Foo Chuk

The hor fun taste fine but some how I don't really like the sauce that goes with it. Some how for me it does not actually blend in with the hor fun. I don't really love soy sauce that taste sweet but tasty, but still it have my vote. So I wouldn't let my taste bud affected your ratings. Head over and try. Who knows it might be your thumbs up food.

Vegetarian Nasi Lemak

I never knew they served vegetarian food till today. Ya something new I knew today. Even it is not truly vegetarian restaurant but at least vegetarian can have some pick from here.

Errrrrr~ Asam Hor Fun with Steamed Chicken??

I re-named this food actually because I totally forget what's the name of it. Never mind what it's name is, the food definitely taste nice from what Zack had. He was sweating all the way while he was tasting it, with slurppppppppppp sound along. So what do you think it taste like???

Si Mi Lu / Sai Mai Lou

This is dessert pick of the day and taste nice from the outlook. The one who had it, Albert does not satisfied with it. Too sweet for him thou. Girls, do you think you would love it? We love sweet food don't we?

Toast with butter and kaya

Simple but yet an everyday choice. This is a simple breakfast but yet will keep you full all day long. This had been always the choice of all.

Vegetarian Bun

This is the first time I ever had vegetarian char siew bun. Not bad. Not too different form what I imagined. At least it taste sweet and not salty. Char siew bun supposed to be sweetened isn't it?

Have a very lighten lunch with the sabah-ians. They were nice people and humorous enough. I must said they really brighten my boring Sunday.

Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant

It's all about food again. My cousin is having her 21st birthday so we thought of brought her to this korean restaurant that we had been talking about ages ago. She had been desiring to come over for long time ago so we would have granted one of her wishes on her 21st birthday.

This place had some minor changes since the last time I came. They had this some sort of pipe to suck up all the smoke that was released by the bbq or either steamboat while they were cooked.

They were 6 side dishes served when you ordered your stuff. You can eat it just like that or there is another way I am eating eat. Scroll down and you will know how am I gona eat this.

Kimchi

This is one of the food that you would not have miss out when you head over to a korean restaurant.

White Carrot

They sliced it really think and you can even see through it. It is nice to have sweetened and also little bit of sour taste. I bet they had used vinegar and its an origin korean one.

We ordered 2 of the most famous style of korean ways of eating food. The very first one bbq style. Bet you will never forget the people sitting around the table eating the bbq pork whenever you watched a korean drama. Eat it with a cup of sake is super delicious but too bad we did not have any sake.

We had someone to do the cooking for us, whereas we just wait and eat. But you can choose to bbq it yourself. This is just out of your own choices.

The second called of us is the kimchi taufu bbq. I would said this is more to steamboat. This is duper duper luper hot and spicy. You would know how spicy it is from the colour of he soup!!

hehehehe..me having spicy kimchi but somehow it was so syiok drinking it!! nyum- nyum~~

Finally our bbq pork is done. Let me show you the way I am eating it.

Just like the korean way...put all the side dishes into the vege that they had served you.....

....then packed it together like this. Just put it into your mouth when you finish doing it. fuiyoh~~~ so so nice......try it then you will realised how true it is.

It was great to have the second visit. I bet I am coming again if there is a chance. They served individual dish too or even set for few. Go over to Midvalley 4th floor and have a visit to this restaurant.

It's Deepavali everyone!! I know this is not celebrated all around Malaysia but here, west Malaysia we still have holiday for it. I am not having any discrimination but just that the population for Indian is rather more over here at west malaysia. Every mall had been decorating it and full of Indian delicacies and tidbits.

Sri Carcosa Negara

This is a place that I ha never been before. I never even heard it before this. It was a damn nice place. A very classical like the old english style environment. I really enjoy the environment and the whole day shooting. It was really a great place to be at. Photographers out there, I guess you guys and gals shall list this place in your list.

The whole hotel was mainly in white and wooden made. You might heard some creek sound from the old wood that had been for ages and smell so old too.

This is the stairs which I kinda love. Doesn't it looks like the scene Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone? Where the stairs can move from left to right or otherwise?

The red carpet makes you feel so majestic all the way up. The picture hanging on the wall were very classical too. This is a place had been so so long and go through lots of historical moment with Malaysia.

See the divider? It was so so classical too. This could be a scene for photography too because one of our shot is taken here too. A nice outcome.

One of the portrait that hangs in one of the suite. It was so so huge with a washroom, living room and also a dining room in it. They don't have much suite but every suite is big enough for around 5-7 which is almost as big as where I am living now. I should say bigger than my condo unit that I am living now.

Does this looks so so english too you? Ya to me. Can you imagine you were sitting there? With a cup of tea enjoying looks like an old style classic english man with their ancient style cloths? Wow, how I wish I can be pretending one, one day!!

The restaurant was nice for any kind of shoot too. Can you imagine the ambiance with classical music while you were dining? With dim dim light they have and music surroundings how perfect is that? Even model how were posing felt they were at that decades.

They had fresh flower everyday for each table. Nice aroma for flower lovers. Rose and lavender is their top choice, so you won't have too heavy of flower aroma.

Sounds temptating to you? Might pay a visit over there and experience it yourself like I do.

Domino's Pizza

Frankly speaking I ever eat Pizza hut for decades and hundred times. It was always my all time favorite. And yesterday I had something different, Domino's. I know I sound so so outdated by not eating domino's before but I guess it is never too late to try it.

It was great and not bad but still I love Pizza Hut more. Don't know whether it was my taste bu used to Pizza Hut or what....but still some comment on the new trial.

Cheese Stick

That's their cheese stick. Ok but I think I prefer pizza's because their cheese stick is more krunchy and full with cheese aroma when it melts in the mouth.

Pepperoni Pizza

This is my fave among the 3 of what we ha ordered. Additionally we ordered thin crust so it seems so nice and taste great with every bite. This pepperoni is better than pizza's. Thumbs up for this.

Seafood Pizza

I don't really like the blending of the ingredients in here. Maybe the green pepper brings out the strange aroma after it bakes so I don't really love it thou.

BBQ Chicken

This is what they recommend on Domino's. I actually think it was fine. Or maybe I don't really love bbq taste and flavor. Does this sound I am quite picky in food? Definitely not its just a taste bud problem. Everyone had different expectation on the food they eat.

All American Rejects

Are you a Digi user? Are you loyal to digi? And I bet some of you out there might had been as lucky as I do to receive a free ticket from digi to all-american rejects (AAR) mini concert in 1 utama on coming 10th October.

To be true, I had always received this sort of promotion from digi but they tend to send over promotions from my hometown Miri, when I was at KL...and they tend to send over promotions and mini concert going on at KL when I was not around too.....argh~~~YAH....So, I tend to miss it out most of the time.

This time round I am available for this but sadly I will not be attending it. BUT, I am not gona waste the ticket. I am giving it out to whoever that want to go. It is nice to share with others when you can't have it. It's a blessed and feeling nice to share with others what you have.

I gave the ticket to this lovely, sweet lady over here. She is a colleague of mine and she wanted to go. SO, why not isn't it? BUT, there is always a but in life. When all of the thing seems so good something unexpected happen.

The concert will be postponed until further notification. That was so so upset. We just got our ticket and yet now the concert was postponed. Tyson Ritter had some accident and could not travel at the moment...so yay that's basically how it was. Things just came and now the concert had to be postponed. So, now praying hard hopefully it won't be cancelled. Recover soon Tyson!!

Korean Food

It is actually not easy to find a nice place that served great korean food. There's one I been before which really satisfied my taste bud and now I find another one. People tend to have this thought that Food court won't have any nice food. But this is an exception of it.

Varieties of choice to choose. From stone bowl to hot plate. What you see is what you gona get.

The boss is a Korean and he had a nice wide smile which you will feel really friendly.

My order of the day. The fish is big enough for normal portion. It is enough to full your stomach and if you are fish lover than I bet you would ask for more.

Appetizer of the day, kimchi and also potato. I don't know how did they cook this but it was not bad at all.

It looks just a normal white rice but it actually taste better than what we eat everyday. maybe its because it's from their country I guess, that is why it is much bigger and tastier than what he had everyday.

The soup is a little too salty but it is a very healthy soup.

That's the overall set. It only cost RM12 per set. Worth it for me. The portion is wise and they had so many food and I shall consider it cheap for so much dishes in a set.
