Welcoming Dog Year with "Poon Choi"@ Miri Marriott Resort & Spa, Miri

Chinese New Year is eventually only less than 2 weeks away. Have you started to clean your house? Have you bought yourself new clothes? Have you baked your cakes and cookies? Have you sorted your menu or even sourcing for venue if you are dining out for the Chinese New Year eve feast where everyone is having high expectation on???? Geezzzz 😟

That’s how busy it is for every family who celebrated Chinese New Year. It is the auspicious celebration that we love and hate at the same time because that’s the busiest time of the year for us, Chinese. However, I think I could lend a helping hand. 😊

Miri Marriott Resort & Spa announces the appointment of Chef Ang Choo Cuin as its new Chinese Chef. Chef Ang will be responsible for the development of the Chinese Menu and for the maintenance of the quality and standards of food preparation, as well as oversee all Chinese food production of the hotel’s extensive banqueting events with the assistance of the Executive Chef Len Ivan Osmund.

His passion for cooking began when he was 21 years old as he started to work as an assistant of the chef for a Chinese restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. After having extensive experience in the kitchen, he decided to take up the challenge to join Miri Marriott and focus on Chinese food preparation.

I probably be able to help you get your reunion dinner venue sorted. Breaking the norm and repeated dishes that you have every year, Miri Marriott Resort & Spa offers Deluxe Abalone “Poon Choi” that probably would be your great alternative.

Chef Ang created the menu, which uses sophisticated cooking skills to meet local preferences. One of his signature auspicious offerings the Deluxe Abalone “Poon Choi” , Basin Dish (盆菜) consists of Dried Scallops, Dried Oysters, Water King Prawns, Roasted Chicken, Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw and other premium ingredients at a price of RM 688 nett for 6 pax and RM 888 nett for 10 pax.

Chinese New Year dinner will not be complete without the tossing of Yee Sang. Yee Sang is symbolic of good luck, prosperity, health and all things auspicious. At Miri Marriott, Yee Sang can be enjoyed by dining in or to be taken away for celebrations in the comfort of your homes with loved ones. Price at RM88 nett per standard serving is available from now onwards till 3rd March 2018.

Besides, "Poon Choi", set menus are also available both, lunch and dinner and prices at RM 888 nett and RM 1,188 nett for a table of ten with a complimentary bottle of wine, soft drinks and Chinese tea.

If you love something with more varieties, their buffet might be your ultimate selection. 😉

Photography

Recently, I am up to more nature photography. Those who know me well knows that I am always girl with my babe (camera) around. Non stop taking food places and something which is akward and new to my eyes. Nowadays I find out that the view out from my balcony and window is so tentative and fascinating that I did not realise before. Here are some shot that I had taken and I hope for some comment for my improvement in future! SUNSET FROM WINDOW VIEW For this picture, I take in two ways. a wish for brighter sky but somehow when I get the color of sky I want the light out from the blue cloud could not be seen clearly. Only when I set it to darker mode then the light out of the cloud could be emphasize out. LIGHT, SIGN OF BETTER DAY

TOUGH

Why do people looks tough when they are actually weak in heart? Why do people pretending to stand alone without no one but actually they need care the most? Why do people trys to look tough from the outside to decrease the possibilities of being bully instead some people actually trying to help with open arms? This is actually a very broad definition out of it. So what position are you in for being tough. Everyone was trying to be tough for lots of things that they are facing nowadays. There are nothing wrong with it to be tough but remember there is still friends out there to lend you their shoulders and be a good listener.
