"猪"事顺利,青春永"猪","猪"圆玉润,"猪"笼入水 - Pullman Miri Waterfront CNY 2019 (Year of Boar)

Chinese New Year is only less than 24 hours to go and everyone is busy with many final touch up and last minute cleaning. The most important part of the year is always the reunion dinner. No Chinese family would wish to miss one of the member for this important event. It represents the unity of the family. Gathering of the far (if there is) and near and definitely the reunion of the all family members once a year on this very table.

Knowing the importance of such meaningful event, Pullman Miri Waterfront had always tried to make the night a memorable one. This year, the year of Boar, they are lifting the mood to a very classical, all red decoration that all Chinese will definitely enjoyed dining in.

Yee Sang tossing is a Malaysian culture where all diners will gather and start tossing for good wishes. It is always a kick start for every dinner that hoping the upcoming year will be great, good and smoothly run for everyone. It is believed that the higher you toss the better it gets. So ladies and gentlemen, stretch your arm out.

A few close up shot during our gathering and this is definitely what you will also get when dining in during the reunion dinner night which is on 3rd February 2019 (Monday) - tomorrow is the day thou. 😎

Appetizers & Dessert Corner

年糕(nian gao) or better known as Kuih Bakul is one of the must have in all Chinese family. It has the symbolism of raising oneself in each coming year as the Chinese word "gao" means tall.

Mandarin orange is also the must have CNY food and weirdly it is also only available during this festive season.

Sweet Tooth Corner

There's variety spread that you would definitely indulge in. Pullman Miri Waterfront not only invited their business partners, they also invited children from Tudan Methodist Home to join the special occasion. 红包 (hong bao) or also known as ang pow is given to these kids which is a small token from the hotel.

Put your hands together for this beautiful team and people who work restlessly to get everything in place for this Chinese New Year.

Dear beloved friends, please be home for this Chinese New Year. Be grateful with people you still get to see and spare time with. Some may not even get to reunite due to certain circumstances. I do not mean to drag the mood down BUT just reminding that loved ones is always worth making time for. Wait no more and book your seats if you haven't did. Below are the details for your reference.

Angels & Demons

This is another great production after DaVinci Code. This is greater, excited and more knowledgeable movie. This movie is more to Christian history and all the ceremony and nevertheless famous place that Christian treat as honourable. I have nothing much to comment on this movie as I think from the beginning till the end the story was quite good. The flow is indeed smooth and connected. I did enjoy the time Tom Hanks search for clue to find the candidate popes where they were hide and the place they will get killed. There is so much excitement in it. My feeling was just like a roller coaster going ups and downs without knowing what would it be the next moment. I could only give two thumbs up for it. Don't believe what I said? Watch it yourself and you will know what I meant.

Photography

Recently, I am up to more nature photography. Those who know me well knows that I am always girl with my babe (camera) around. Non stop taking food places and something which is akward and new to my eyes. Nowadays I find out that the view out from my balcony and window is so tentative and fascinating that I did not realise before. Here are some shot that I had taken and I hope for some comment for my improvement in future! SUNSET FROM WINDOW VIEW For this picture, I take in two ways. a wish for brighter sky but somehow when I get the color of sky I want the light out from the blue cloud could not be seen clearly. Only when I set it to darker mode then the light out of the cloud could be emphasize out. LIGHT, SIGN OF BETTER DAY

YOU TIAO & JOHN KING TART

YOU TIAO is what we called in Chinese and ' YAO ZA GUAI ' is what Cantonese named it and this food is said to be origin from Cantonese people. This is one of the high demand food in Pavilion. It is simple, non-oily and reasonable in price. Their freshly made Tau Foo Far taste great and it is so smooth and doesn't have much of the bean taste which make people hardly love to eat them..... You Tiao - It is so crispy to eat just like that or you wanted to eat with their plain porridge would also be great because the combination of both makes perfect!!! Porridge - Their porridge is not so hardened or over watery. I guess that's the perfect way to describe. It is just alright and you can hardly see the rice but instead it is little sticky which a porridge should have.... After having that, my friend continuing exploring other food in the section. We go for the tart that had been very popular and keep mentioning by those who had ever had them. The legendary tart, ...
